Mike Mikus is a Canadian songwriter and multi-instrumentalist currently based in Edmonton, Canada. After forming multiple rock outfits in Northern Ontario in the 2010's, Mike became a solo act in 2016, furthering his ability to explore his song writing on his own terms. With a cathartic, voracious sound, wide-ranging under the umbrella of rock, his catchy pop hooks and emotionally charged lyrics reflect on the nuances of mental health, embracing vulnerability, and the challenges of self-development. Along with several striking music videos, he released his self-titled debut album in 2018 and embarked on a cross-Canada tour. The album received two nominations at the 2019 NOMFA awards for Best Album and Outstanding Album by an Indigenous Artist. Mikus is currently recording his second solo effort, playing the majority of instruments on record, while also self-producing and engineering his songs alone for the first time.
