The Jerry Proppe Trio Led by Jerry Proppe, this trio have the packed repertoire, the skilled musicianship, and the authentic and intuitive audience engagement earned by the cumulative experience of three lifelong musicians and performers. Jerry, along with bassist Stephano Valdo and drummer Gavin Sorochan, have played every type of venue from intimate galas to outdoor festivals. The warm vocals and cohesive and practiced jazz offerings of the Jerry Proppe Trio can take centre stage or provide an unobtrusive live backdrop, which makes this multifaceted band a welcome addition to any curator’s lineup. Each of the three musicians is uniquely experienced. Gavin Sorochan has worked as a studio and performing drummer for numerous international artists across a vast array of genres. Stefano Valdo has a Master of Music degree and while teaching undergraduate studies in music for years also performed, arranged, and produced numerous independent and collaborative jazz projects. Jerry Proppe has been a performing artist in multiple capacities, from touring solo artist to pianist for dinner theatre to directing and orchestrating many choirs. The piano vocalist, backed by Sorochan’s precise and responsive drums and Valdo’s refined bass, are a tightly coordinated and practiced trio with the skill and ear to meet any performance need.
