Birch is an Edmonton area cellist; I create my own backing tracks that I tailor to support my live cello playing, from the Beatles to Neil Young and Adele.
Birch has a diverse mix of experience, with several full time years in a R&B group in Winnipeg, and in an Edmonton Jazz band. He was classically trained as a cellist and was a member of the TEMPO orchestra. With his knowledge of music and computers, using real and virtual instruments, Birch has built up a large variety of music that supports his live cello playing. For the last 7 years he has been a regular performer at several restaurants in Mexico during the winter. “My goal is to play beautiful and relaxing songs that people will recognize, yet quiet enough to not overwhelm venues.”
