About
GW plays rootsy tunes and instrumentals (a song for gig-venues that use solar? his un-preachy “do-re-mi-fa-SO-LA-POW-ER”)
*Gary’s tunes range from his solar power song—with its catchy refrain & ascending major scale—to rootsy rockers like “World’s Largest Teardrop”. And then there’s his instrumentals, Hawaiian slack key guitar style or kī hōʻalu or kee-ho AH-loo, that he learned from some of the Who’s Who of Kī hōʻalu; one such guitar instrumental is played with a threaded needle dangling over the guitar stings... in honour of Sonny Chillingworth, who did it first (the resulting sound is jangly-but-gentle).
Merchandise-wise, Gary’s thinking “instead of tee-shirts, howze about hankies for folks to cry into when I do a tearjerker” (he starts to sing…) "Step right up and you will see, a man tied up in misery, the world’s largest teardrop is fallin’…"
*he’s billed: “Gary Wayne Myers” but, he says, if you’re in a hurry, try “Gary” or “GW”
p.s. GW’s side-project, Radio Jam Along, has a companion guide, the Green Energy Travel Directory, as seen on YouTube, Bluesky… and on Pinterest, sorta
*GW’s impressions include: Alan Arkin, Peter Lorre, & an in-the-works Amy Sedaris
