Vanessa creates a beautiful atmosphere with a mix of covers and original songs inspired in neo soul and 90s classics, using both English and Spanish languages.
Vanessa grew up in the south of Chile, and has been inspired by various influences from a young age. She learned to play guitar and sing along at age 12 and from then on, she has been improving her skills through community participation and private lessons, and the Calgary music community has been pivotal in this growth. Vanessa is currently the lead singer of Sonido Libre, a 5-7 piece band that explores a blend of jazz, neo soul, Latin rhythms, funk and soul, with a dynamic and improvisational spirit.
