About
Patrick Felixson, an emerging jazz vocalist, captivates with warm tones. Blending jazz standards with contemporary style, his performances breathe new life and a modern feel into timeless classics.
Patrick Felixson is a Canadian resident and jazz vocalist based in Fredericton, New Brunswick, celebrated for his rich, nimble, and bright timbre, expressive, soulful, and emotional voice yet nostalgic tone that deeply resonates with audiences. Known for blending jazz standards with contemporary elements, Patrick’s performances bring fresh vitality to timeless pieces with an emotive, modern touch.
His musical path began in childhood, first inspired by classic Disney tunes, and later by Ella Fitzgerald’s Satin Doll at the age of seven, which sparked his lifelong dedication to jazz. With a home filled with iconic music, Patrick developed his voice and artistry independently, immersing himself in the legendary works of jazz and soul. He credits Ella Fitzgerald as the first singer who truly captured his heart musically and has also been influenced by several other legends. He instantly reminds people of Nat King Cole.
Patrick has performed successfully at renowned venues in New York City, including Birdland Jazz Club, where he shared the stage with Billy Stritch at the Jim Caruso Cast Party, Minton's Playhouse, Smalls Jazz Club, and Swing 46, as well as at Festival Japan in Ottawa. His performances, which swing and have a strong focus on storytelling of his lived experiences, have also enlivened numerous nightclubs, bars, coffee shops, and pubs. Patrick has received the approval of respected jazz vocalist Amy London and will continue to study under her guidance to further refine his artistry.
Patrick has won local talent shows and recently performed at several venues during Fredericton’s Harvest Jazz & Blues Festival. He has also performed alongside respected Canadian saxophonist Joel Miller, pianist Charles Guerin, bassist Jason Flores, and drummer Jon Bailey, to name a few.
A passionate music lover, Patrick Felixson is emerging as a significant new voice in the Canadian jazz community, earning recognition for his commitment to preserving the legacy of the art form through his music and live performances.
