Laura Roy is a Canadian artist and Grammy-nominated songwriter whose sound blends contemporary folk, R&B and alt-pop with deeply expressive vocals. Originally from rural Nova Scotia and now based between the UK and Canada, she has toured the world as a backing vocalist, performing at London’s Wembley Arena with artists like Sabrina Carpenter and Dua Lipa. A two-time East Coast Music Award winner, Laura first emerged with a series of EPs that charted her evolution as a writer and performer. She recently returned home to Nova Scotia to record her debut full-length album, a project that reconnects her with the landscapes and communities that shaped her early years. Laura Roy is the 2026 Banff Musician in Residence.
