Mike Crampton writes songs that behave like good stories. They arrive funny, get under your skin, and leave you humming an odd line you didn’t expect to care about. Based in Central Alberta, Mike pairs a dry, snarky sense of humour with keenly observed, emotional songwriting. From the absurdities of modern life to quieter fare that nods toward loss and longing, his songs run the gamut. He’s an experienced house concert host who knows how to hold an attentive room and turn an audience of strangers into friends by the end of a set. In November 2025 he released his debut album Death, Dying, and Other Hilarious Topics, a collection that shows both his comic timing and his capacity for sincere, intimate songs, making Mike a perfect fit for songwriter nights, emerging-artist showcases, and roots-friendly lineups. Mike tours regionally and is comfortable in stripped-back solo formats, as well as performing with various band configurations up to four-piece. He brings strong originals and a personable stage presence that connects well with small to medium sized listening audiences.
