About
James and Oak, together known as joak, have a symbiotic relationship where Oak writes lyrics and melodies, and James does practically everything but write lyrics!
James plays guitar and sings backup while Oak sings lead vocals. Both young artists are local to Cochrane, and can be heard performing some acoustic covers and originals from their debut EP “Hear What I Mean.” Oak uses music as a way to express, share, and think about their life experiences; James revels in high-energy punk music and uses instrumentation and recording techniques to bring emotion to his music.
