YYC Music Award nominees Steel & Timber are a blend of roots country, folk rock, bluegrass and blues, and it it makes sense; the members of Steel & Timber are music lovers. Their eclectic sound is influenced by bands like the Black Keys, the Avett Brothers, Johnny Cash, and Jack White. Steel and Timber released their first full length album Everything you Own in 2017.
Steel & Timber has become a popular act in Calgary and the surrounding areas. Their music is enjoyed by all ages and has gained them repeat performances at festivals, charity events, and night clubs. Steel & Timber have also enjoyed noteworthy stages, including the Lilac Festival, the King Eddy, the Southern Alberta Music Festival, and have opened for Paul Brandt, The Heels, Whitehorse, and The Dead South.
In 2018, drummer Stephanie Ralph started playing with the band and their sound was elevated to a new and exciting level. Steel & Timber continues to develop their sound and stage act incorporating ukulele, and guitar and banjo effects. Their percussive energy and clear enjoyment of playing live has earned them a unique place in Calgary's music scene.

Appeals most (but not limited) to: We've played family festivals, farmers markets, and late night clubs. We don't really have a typical audience, but so far we seem to right for any occasion. This is noted by the amount of albums we've sold and business cards we've handed out to all ages. We can do intimate venues and private events as an acoustic string trio or duo, and a festival or club stages with a drummer, plugged in and loud!
