'...McHugh is a vibrant, exciting, and collected individual, poised to make his presence felt in the ever-evolving Calgary arts community.'
Hayden McHugh is a performer who was born and raised in Calgary, Canada.
Growing up in the suburbs of the city, Hayden’s roots in music began as he trained in stage performance with the Youth Singers of Calgary, along with classical piano. At the age of 16 he started songwriting and producing, and by the age of 18 had produced his first album, Lion’s Breath. Fascinated by 80's style synth-pop and new dance music, Hayden has created a dreamy, fun and cinematic sound that rings out with a powerful and punchy melody. Inspired by artists like Bibi Bourelly and Jon Bellion, Hayden's music will not only make you want to shake, but will also brighten your day and warm your heart.
Founder of MusicGivesYYC, a program which works to raise funds for local charities through merchandise and events, also organizes fundraiser shows to feature the ever changing Calgary music scene. For the last five years, Hayden has also worked with the youth singers of Calgary building the STAR! program, focusing on music therapy for children with down syndrome as well as those on the autism spectrum.
