About
Fingerstyle guitar playing, upbeat lyrical songs, and an engaging rapport with your audience.
Known as Calgary’s unofficial busker king, you’ve probably seen Doug Waite streetside, or performing at local venues and music festivals. Doug started playing music when he was fifteen, going on to busk his way throughout Europe as a young man, before returning to his roots here in Canada. He’s won the Calgary Folk Fest Songwriting contest two years in a row, and has been a part of many Calgary music mainstays – touring Spain with the Ramblin’ Ambassadors, and producing the Bownesians’ Picnic for 9 years. Genre-defying, his performances blend everything from folk, jazz, surf rock, and more.
