"Cinco de Mayo" on the 5th of May, is an annual Mexican holiday of the Mexican army's 1862 victory over France during the Franco-Mexican War. In many areas, Cinco de Mayo has evolved into a commemoration of Mexican culture and heritage. Towards that goal, Tres Marias restaurant is a Calgary restaurant founded in 2004 by owners Alejandro and Aurora Orozco from Mexico. It is committed to providing authentic Mexican food products, and its meals are made with local organic and natural ingredients. Its products vary from oven fresh authentic tortillas to it's signature salsas and meals to go. To help celebrate Cinco de Mayo, Tres Marias is providing live music throughout that day to entertain its patrons. Through vocals and guitar, Dave Morris plays a variety of music covering many decades, including country, jazz, pop, and some originals and instrumentals. In his musical experiences he has performed at restaurants in Calgary, BC and other locations, and has also been fortunate enough to entertain at weddings and other milestone celebrations.
