Tiago Guy is a Brazilian-born singer-songwriter who, in the spring of 2021, made the big move to New Orleans to pursue his passion for American roots music. Since then, he has carved his way into the local music scene, appearing on many of the city’s well-known stages including Tipitina’s, the Maple Leaf Bar, and the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. On his recently released sophomore album, Paper Thin, Tiago combines smooth, soulful sounds inspired by his musical adventures in the city with personal lyrics that document a foreigner’s perspective on quintessential New Orleans experiences, from riding out hurricanes to meeting his significant other’s family in Westwego. The album’s roster of studio musicians includes local favorites like Jon Cleary, Nigel Hall, John Fohl, and the Zion Harmonizers.
