This is a volunteer opportunity for musicians who wish to share their talent with Calgarians experiencing young-onset dementia. YouQuest is a registered charity that focuses on improving the quality of life for people with young-onset dementia and their care partners. YouQuest provides weekly respite for care partners by providing a day of engaging activities for participants including live music and entertainment. Key details are listed below:
- Location: Paperny Family JCC, Calgary. 1607 90 Avenue SW, Calgary, AB T2V 4V7
- Day and time: Weekly on Tuesday and Thursday at 2:45 pm. Wednesday's at 1 to 2 pm. Duration: Performances last 1 hour
- PA: Bose sound system is provided with an 8 channel mixer. Three mic stands and cables. Please being own microphones.
- Audience: Your enthusiastic audience will be participants with young-onset dementia (under 65), recreation therapists and staff.
- Compensation: This is a volunteer opportunity.
- Preferred Artists: Artists that can engage a 50 to 65 demographic with musical memories through covers and / or interesting story telling.
- Charitable status: YouQuest is a registered charity.
