About the artist
“Composer/Violinist James Watson and Dance Artist Jocelyn Mah join forces to present a music-movement-mask collaboration, exploring the ways in which music can inspire movement and vice versa. ”
James Watson is a professional freelance musician graduating the University of Calgary (Bachelors of Music, Minor of Linguistics) in 2020. Jocelyn Mah is a graduate of The School of Toronto Dance Theatre in addition to holding a Master of Arts in Contemporary Dance from London Contemporary Dance School. She performs, creates and teaches through the arts of dance, mask and puppetry. As a duo, James and Jocelyn's interdisciplinary collaborations combine their joint vocabulary of contemporary and folk/jazz idioms.
