About the artist
“With a voice both sweet and sultry, Roya Camille invites listeners on a journey under the midnight sun — from Arctic aurora to prairie skies. ”
Roya Camille is a Northern Canadian musician originally from Yellowknife, now based in Edmonton. She merges pop, folk, and Middle Eastern influences into a warm, soulful sound, drawing comparisons to Norah Jones, Emily King, and Lianne La Havas. With a voice both sweet and sultry, she invites listeners on a journey under the midnight sun — from the Arctic aurora to prairie skies.
In October 2025, Roya released her debut single No More War, an anthemic call for peace in a turbulent world. No More War has received CBC Radio One play, and won Best Music Video at the Toronto Women Film Festival, introducing Roya as a compelling, genre-bending new voice. In 2026, she will release four singles leading into her debut album “Breath and Being”, produced by JUNO-nominated producer Enoch Attey. The record is a collection of deeply personal songs tracing her journey into womanhood — from intimate love songs to funk- and soul-driven grooves that live in the body. Blending acoustic guitars, folk rhythms, and jazz-infused melodies, Roya’s music is poetic, powerful, and emotionally resonant.
Roya has performed at notable venues and festivals including the Calgary Folk Club, Yardbird Suite, the King Eddy, SkirtsAfire, Kaleido Festival and Flying Canoe Volant. She is a recipient of MusiCounts Fred Sherratt Award for Outstanding Achievement in Music and Recording Arts and Sciences.
