About
The Calgary Airport, Stagehand and a group of local Artists are excited to launch a six-month music program as a pilot project at the Calgary Airport. The program is intended to enhance the airport travel experience and to provide opportunities for artists to perform, grow, and earn in an unconventional performance setting. After the pilot period, the airport will evaluate the program and make changes as appropriate.
Details are as follows:
- Seven additional artists will be added to the program.
- Performances will take place both pre- and post-security in various concourses throughout the Airport terminal.
- All artists must be prepared to undergo airport security screening. This process can take some time, especially if the applicant has spent significant time outside Canada.
- Artists will have an opportunity to perform four times per month.
- Performance shifts are two hours in length with a break
- Compensation is a mixture of an honorarium of $125 plus tips from travellers. Based on experience before the pandemic, we anticipate a total income of $200–$250+ per shift.
- PA is provided.
- Free parking is provided.
- All genres are welcome.
